On September 30, 2024, children aged 6 to 16 from Kibbutz Holit visited the Schwartz/Reisman Center, located on the Arnon Campus in Rehovot, as part of the “Trampoline” project.
This volunteer-based initiative connects mentors from the fields of high-tech and education to support children who experienced the events of October 7, 2023, and were relocated from the Gaza border area to Rehovot. The program aims to help them overcome challenges and bridge educational gaps.
The event featured a unique activity led by Dror Moshe Aharoni, a member of the teaching staff, who created fascinating demonstrations in the fields of electricity and magnetism that greatly excited the children. During a break, one of the children enthusiastically remarked, “I want to study physics and become a scientist.”
In addition to the demonstrations, the children participated in a hands-on and creative activity on the topic of freefall, where they were tasked with dropping eggs from a height and preventing them from breaking. The activity involved planning and working in the Gelfand Makerspace (Fab Lab) located on the Arnon Campus, to the delight of the children, their mentors, and their parents.
The Schwartz/Reisman Center is proud to take part in community and educational initiatives such as the Trampoline Project and is honored to contribute its resources and expertise to empower the younger generation, especially during such challenging times.
