Last Friday (February 21), the “Choosing Physics” conference took place at the Schwartz/Reisman Science Education Center, Arnon Campus, bringing together students from various schools in Rehovot who are interested in studying physics.
During the event, the students enjoyed a fascinating lecture by Dr. Hagar Landsman from the Weizmann Institute of Science on “The Physics of Elementary Particles.” Additionally, they participated in scientific demonstrations on topics such as energy and waves, optics and electricity, and mechanics, led by the teaching staff at Arnon Campus.
This special event was held in the presence of the Mayor, Mr. Matan Dill, and served as a significant opportunity to encourage young women to pursue physics studies and integrate into the worlds of science and technology.
The conference was led by teacher Dora Etgar, with the support of Dr. Idit Baylis, Dr. Mary Donai, Dr. Tal Wordan, and Nofar Hamo.
This coming Friday (February 28), we will host another conference at our center, welcoming additional students from schools in Ness Ziona.
We are eagerly looking forward to welcoming the next generation of future physicists!
