First place win in the International Physics Safe Cracking Tournament

Congratulations to the team from the Schwartz/Reisman Science Education Center in Arnon Campus t the Weizmann Institute for their 1st place win in the national Physics Safe Cracking Tournament, held annually at he Davidson Institute of Science Education at the Weizmann Institute of Science.

Physics students from Israel and around the world developed “safes” over the past half-year, whose locking mechanism is based on two physics puzzles.

Among all the teams, a team from the Science High School in Rehovot, studying at the Arnon Campus in Rehovot, won first place in the national competition!

In addition, a mixed group of students from the De-Shalit, Science and Science Park High schools who also study at the Schwartz/Reisman Science Education center Arnon Campus in Rehovot won the 3rd place in both the national and international competitions. The team worked on the winning safe under the guidance of teachers Alon Shacham and Roee Basha, with the assistance of the Gelfand FabLab team: Shmuel Sinai and Noy Gabay.
