Western Negev Campus, Netivot

The Schwartz/Reisman Science Education Center — Western Negev commenced operations in 2021, in response to a joint initiative of the Western Negev Cluster municipalities. It aims to enhance the quality of science education available to the region’s students over time.

Currently, the student body encompasses some 385 students from Sderot, Netivot, and Ofakim, enrolled in the 5-unit physics matriculation program. With its expected move to the new Helmsley Campus for Science Education in the 2024/25 school year, it will extend its reach to students from regional councils and other authorities within the Western Negev cluster.

The Helmsley Campus, spanning approximately 5,600 square meters constructed at an exceptional building standard, is ideally suited for delivering the 5-unit physics and chemistry programs to the region’s students. A unique science garden over an area of 11 dunams around the campus is under development, enriching the overall learning experience at the center.

The center’s staff includes 15 teachers and teaching assistants, the vast majority of whom are residents of the Negev.
