Gerald (Gerry) Schwartz is a Jewish Canadian businessman. He is the founder and CEO of Onex Corporation. Onex is one of Canada's ten largest companies with global industrial operations. He is also one of the most outstanding supporters of the Canadian Jewish community. Heather Reisman is the founder and CEO of Indigo Books & Music Inc., Canada’s largest book retailer. The couple’s generous contribution is rooted in their deep commitment to Israel and the Jewish community worldwide, and they have given generously to other areas of science at the Weizmann Institute as well.

Prof. Ruth and Dr. Uriel Arnon
Prof. Ruth Arnon, a member of the Department of Immunology, is one of the inventors of Copaxone®, the multiple sclerosis drug, and a world leader in immunology research. She headed the Department of Chemical Immunology, was Dean of Biology, and was Institute Vice President. She was President of the Israel Academy of Sciences and the Humanities. She and her husband Uriel, an engineer, have given generously to support science education, including a major donation to establish the campus of the Schwartz/Reisman Center.
